Man United have their eyes on Napoli defender Kim Min-Jae. The Red Devils are slowly transforming their whole identity under Erik ten Hag. It’s going to take time, though the early signs are encouraging. Man United are a side who have conceded so many goals recently.
Improving in that area of the field was identified as the early starting point for the Dutch coach. Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane have been good, with their partnership flourishing. However, Man United are still looking at bringing in another defender.
Apparently, the Red Devils are showing interest in South Korea international. Man United will hold negotiations with Kim’s current side, Napoli, about a potential move. Man United are considering activating a £44m release clause within Min-Jae’s current contract, though that clause isn’t available to be activated in winter.
So that may mean directly negotiating with the Italian club. The 25-year-old centre-back only arrived in Naples over the summer after leaving Fenerbahce. The South Korean centre-back has started life in Serie A brilliantly, scoring twice as his side lead the league in the early stages.
The Dutch coach has always talked about football is a squad game, with the Red Devils looking to have great squad depth all over the field. It also points towards Erik ten Hag not fully trusting the likes of Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof, who have largely remained rooted to the bench.
